The Build It Yourself Project Create. Value. Inspire. Conference Facilitation "Suppose we were able to share meanings freely without a compulsive urge to impose "We are continually faced by great opportunities
We use a number of processes and structures which while tested and established are frequently not used in meetings or conference settings. These are all used to engage the whole conference or meeting in the process and activities of the conference theme, to use the 'collective genius' within the room not just from the stage. 'Open Space' is one of the methods we use. It is based on the principle that the best and most productive part of 'conferences' are the discussions which take place informally around the conference edges. It brings these creative and informal discussions into the centre of the meeting/ conference. By providing some structure through Open Space participants have the opportunity to engage more productively than more conventional formats. Other benefits include: Click 'Learning' for a further explanation of our approach to learning. Note. More on Open Space is detailed in "Open Space Technology: A User's Guide", by Harrison Owen who created this concept in the early 1980's. listening - learning - valuing - random - building - challenging - growing - nurturing
